As you may know, cats can be very picky when it comes to food and drink. In the wild, they eat food that contains a good quantity of water, so they don’t need to drink so much.
However, domesticated cats eat food that contains much less water, so they need to drink more at home.

This was easy to put together and is just as easy to take apart and clean. We try to keep close to the schedule of changing the filter every two weeks as suggested to keep it from clogging or breaking down the road. So far no issues. You can hear it if you are in the same room, it just sounds like a bubbly fountain. The mat is helpful because although it doesn't leak or splash enough to cause a mess the cats drinking from it cause water to fall on the floor.
It did not take long for either cat to adapt (including the one who was terrified when we got new chairs) and she even enjoys laying down and watching it.
Any cat owner should have this.
It doesn't make a noticeable noise and it clearly shows the water level in the reservoir. It's been running about 20 hours a day since I received it at the beginning of August and so far no problem. The bowl has a light which makes it illuminate in blue glow. Only suggestion would be to be able to raise the fountain head a bit for large cats. The ones using it now range from about 5-10lbs, but we have big chubbers and its a bit too low for them. If this one keeps working well, and the filters are easily purchased, we plan to buy another and put it in another room.
At first she was like “what the heck is this?” but she got used to it and my other cat as well.....That's why I got it because she doesn’t like to drink water out of the bowl but likes to drink out of the faucet so I thought this was the best solution and it turned out to be the best solution for her...she drinks more water and she’s more hydrated. This is a must for any pet owner and on top of it has a cute little nightlight, can’t go wrong with lol Happy Kitty ????
The manufacturer recommends taking it apart and rinsing the parts and filter ever two weeks, I believe, but I do it weekly just to be safe. It's very quick and easy to do, and the fountain comes with a few slimline brushes for cleaning the pump and tube which makes it even faster and easier than it would be otherwise.
My cat definitely seems to be drinking more (or at least drinking more often) which is good for her health, and the fact that she no longer has to bend over to drink seems to be helping her digestion as well (she's getting old and has tummy troubles from time to time, although less often lately).
For some reason, she didn't like the pad that came with it to place it on, and scratched it to pieces within a few days, but that's not really an issue since the fountain doesn't splash at all that I've noticed, no matter how full or empty it is.
This is definitely a great value for the money, and I'm very pleased with it and glad I got it instead of one of the others I looked at :)
